Originally the brain child of Dr. Federico Manero Guardiola, the hospital was first built in 1977 as the Centro Clínico San Carlos.
In 2001 the hospital was completely modernised and extended and is now known as the Vithas Hospital Internacional Medimar. The Medimar Hospital is located in Avenida Denia in Alicante and offers a total of six floors encompassing a total of 4,000 sqm.
The Medimar Hospital boasts some of the latest facilities and technological equipment including C.A.T scans, Radioinmunotests, Nuclear medicine and Positron Emission Tomography.
The hospital offers 24 hour treatment and services for patients including duty doctors, internists, an emergency unit, home hospitalisation, ambulances and even a mobile intensive care unit.
The Medimar Hospital is a member of the Vithas Group, which operates 19 hospitals and 25 specialist healthcare centers throughout the country.
