First opened in 1990, the Hospital de La Luz has developed a number of speciality care units which have helped position the hospital as a reference in private medical healthcare in Huelva and the Costa del La Luz.

The architect of the hospital Aurelio Cazenave had two main aims when designing the hospital. These were to provide a comfortable environment for patients and staff and at the same time create a facility, which was environmentally friendly utilising biomass heating systems and solar prototype elevators.
