The hospital Virgen del Consuelo is a general hospital centrally located at the very heart of Valencia. Part of the Nisa/Vithas group of private hospitals, the Virgen del Consuelo was the first hospital founded by the Nisa group back in 1967. At this time, the hospital was considered one of the pioneers in offering a private medical services in the Valencia region.

In 2010, the hospital received a considerable upgrade in technological equipment, which has helped to establish it as one of the most advanced hospitals in the region. Today, the Virgen del Consuelo is well known as a specialist in Oncology services and is considered to be a leader within this field. Other specialist units have also been recent additions to the hospital including Assisted Conception and Ophthalmology units.

In 2017, the hospital became a part of the Vithas group of private healthcare hospitals forming a network of 19 general facilities and 25 specialist units serving around 4.5 million patients each year.
