Cover & Services of Sanitas Professional Plus
The Sanitas Professional Plus plan is specifically for self employed individuals who are already paying into the Spanish social security system. This plan provides you with 100% cover in Spain and access to all the facilities and specialists within the Sanitas network. It also comes bundled with dental cover and our work / traffic accident option. This plan comes with co-payments and you may choose additional services as part of your cover.
Please note: The Sanitas Professional Plus plan is NOT suitable for residency / N.I.E. or visa applications.

A single room with a bed for your visitor when hospitalised (except for Psychiatric hospitalisation).

- Can I use the Professional Plus plan outside Spain?

Yes. In an emergency you can use your travel assistance cover up to €12,000 per claim.
- What is a Network policy?
A network policy requires you to use doctors, hospitals and dentists who are contracted to provide services for Sanitas. Details of the Sanitas network are available on this site by clicking here. They will also be available inside your online account after you have purchased this policy.
- What are co-payments and how much are they for the Sanitas Professional Plus plan?

Co-payments are like excesses and they are charged for each service you use. The Sanitas Professional Plus plan comes with co-payments. Co-payments are collected every month from your account on file. The following illustration details the co-payments for the Sanitas Professional Plus plan. The amount of the co-payment that you pay depends upon how many times you have already used services in the year - When the policy renews the services are reset back to zero services used.

- What are pre-existing conditions and how do they apply to the Sanitas Professional Plus plan?
Pre-existing conditions relate to previous pathologies prior to the date of you contracting the Sanitas Professional Plus plan. If you have declared any pre-existing conditions on your application one of our doctors will call you in confidence. From there a personal assessment will be made, which will guarantee the fairest and most comprehensive assessment of your health.
- Does the Sanitas Professional Plus plan cover antenatal care or childbirth?

Yes. The Sanitas Professional Plus plan will cover your antenatal consultations, diagnostic tests. Childbirth is covered as long as you fall pregnant after becoming a member.

- Is there an age limit on becoming a Sanitas Professional Plus member?

Initially you may contract this policy up to age 74. There is no upper age limit to remain covered, once the policy is in force.

We will need to see your last receipt of payment for your social security, we will also need you to complete the online application form.
- I want to join and become a member, what is the next step?

If you want to join then you will need you to complete our online application form. If you have already requested a quote then these details will already be autofilled on your application form.
- If I complete the online application what happens next? Am I committed to the insurance?

After you have completed our online application form (and you have sent back requested signed copies to us) you will receive a call from one of our Sanitas doctors who will assess any medical history. After the assessment is complete it is then down to you to accept the policy on those terms. If there is no medical history involved then we will call you to accept the policy instead.
