Sanitas Blua

Sanitas Blua is the digital health service included at no extra cost with every Sanitas health plan. It gives a 24-hour emergency video line with a general practitioner, while video consultations in every specialty are booked by appointment. Blua does not include home blood tests or medicine delivery, which Sanitas sells as a separate paid add-on.

Sanitas Blua is the digital healthcare service included with your Sanitas plan. Through the app you get a 24-hour emergency video line with a general practitioner (GP) and a paediatric emergency video line. You also get video consultations in every specialty by appointment, so you can be seen without leaving home. The doctor on a video consultation can prescribe medication and order tests when they judge it appropriate. In Spanish, Sanitas calls the service Blua, la salud digital de Sanitas.

Blua also gives you a symptom checker, a 20-minute health check on your phone and digital physiotherapy with your exercises corrected on screen. It adds the Take Care of Your Mind online psychology service and seven coaching programmes with a Sanitas nutritionist, trainer, physiotherapist, psychologist, midwife or paediatric nurse.

It is included as standard on Sanitas health plans at no extra cost. The app is available in English and Spanish. Sanitas sends the link to the app by text message once a policy arranged through HealthPlan Spain is activated. Compare the plans and get a quote to start.

• Who arranges it: HealthPlan Spain is an authorised Sanitas agent (agent code 22395) in Marbella that arranges Sanitas health plans in English, with Blua included, at the same price as buying direct from Sanitas.

What changes by plan

• Every plan includes Blua at no extra cost.
• That includes Accede, Avanza, Unico, Sanitas Mas Salud, Optima, Plus and Mas Salud Family. It also includes Top Quantum, Residents Visa, Mas 90, Premium 500, International Students and the Professional plans.
• The Blua services are the same on every plan, so the choice of plan comes down to the medical cover. Compare the plans to see how they differ.
• On Mas Salud Optima and Mas Salud Plus, a video consultation carries the same co-payment as the equivalent in-person consultation. On Accede and Avanza it costs nothing, and on Unico it counts on the plan's co-payment scale.
• The 24-hour emergency video consultation carries no co-payment on any plan.
