How To Redeem Your Free 90 Euro Food Voucher In Valencia Region

The cost of weekly groceries in Spain rose by 16.6% in March 2023, despite the government's VAT reduction on essential food items.
With soaring food prices leading to a drop in seafood and fish consumption, the regional government of Valencia has stepped up to provide support to residents.
To ease the burden on low-income families, the Valencia government recently announced that it would give out €90 vouchers to the most vulnerable households to pay for groceries. The aid is expected to help half a million families in the region and is called the Bono Cesta de la Compra (Shopping Basket Voucher).
To ensure that the funds are spent on food, the subsidy will be provided as a pre-paid bank card, available for four months, and can be used in any food-related establishment across the Valencia region. The aid will be available for application from April 20 and will run until July 15.
Residents in the Valencia region with a yearly household income not exceeding €21,000 can apply for the subsidy. It can be applied for through the specialised website set up by the Valencian government, which also provides a helpline for any questions.
Once you have made the application at the website above, you will be notified by SMS and/or email as to the outcome of your claim and advised on how to collect the voucher.
The voucher will only be available to purchase food products with a number of supermarkets and chains taking part in the initiative including Alcampo, Carrefour, Consum, Dia, Dialprix, El Corte Inglés, Hiperber, Lidl, Más y Más, Mercadona, Spar and the small business represented by Confecomerç and Unió Gremial.
The Valencia government has allocated €48 million for this purpose, with the aid being compatible with other subsidies such as the Minimum Vital Income and the €200 cost of living subsidy from the Spanish government. Pensioners, however, have not been included in the aid package.
