Save 20% On Train Tickets With Ouigo's Promotion For Passengers Aged Over 30 Spain News

Ouigo, the French railway operator in Spain, has launched an exciting promotion targeting travellers aged above 30 years of age. The promotion offers a generous 20 percent discount on various routes across Spain, including popular destinations like Madrid, Zaragoza, Tarragona, Barcelona, Valencia, Albacete, and Alicante.

According to the information available on the Ouigo website, this exclusive offer by the low-cost high-speed train operator will be accessible between July 31 and September 2. It complements the existing government-backed discounts for young people up to the age of 30, in which Ouigo actively participates.

In total, Ouigo has made 50,000 discounted tickets available for sale. Interested passengers can purchase these discounted tickets from June 19 to 30 through the Ouigo website and mobile app.

To take advantage of the discount, prospective travellers simply need to use the promotional code VIEJOVEN during their booking process. The 20 percent discount will be applied to the ticket amount for round-trip reservations with a minimum value of 40 euros.

This promotion, aptly named 'Viejóven,' is designed to facilitate summer travel for individuals over the age of 30 by offering them affordable high-speed train options. Ouigo aims to promote sustainable transportation and reduce reliance on more polluting means of travel, such as aeroplanes and cars.

Furthermore, Ouigo's initiative complements the 50 percent discount offered through the recent 'Verano Joven' program by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility, and Urban Agenda. This government program subsidises high-speed train tickets for young people between the ages of 18 and 30 who travel between June 15 and September 15.

By demonstrating its commitment to young people, who may face financial challenges due to rising prices, Ouigo hopes to attract not only this demographic but also other travellers seeking memorable summer getaways. These discounts contribute to a shift towards more sustainable travel options throughout Spain.

These latest offers are part of Ouigo's long-standing tradition of launching promotions during periods of high demand, such as Fallas and Christmas. These special events, known as 'Pink Days,' apply to Ouigo's regular fares, which include a general fare of 9 euros, a flat rate of 5 euros for children aged between 4 and 13 years, and free travel for children up to 3 years of age, when accompanied by an adult.

Rest assured, Ouigo guarantees a complete and comfortable service for all passengers during their journeys. Their trains feature 509 seats distributed across two levels, accommodating a significant number of travellers. Additionally, the onboard cafeteria, known as Ouibar, operated by Ouigo staff, offers a diverse selection of food and drinks to cater to various tastes.

In a recent development, Ouigo has requested a capacity study from Adif, with the aim of commencing operations in 2024 on the lines connecting Valladolid, Segovia, Madrid, Albacete, Alicante, Madrid, Elche, and Murcia. This expansion demonstrates Ouigo's commitment to providing convenient and accessible train services to more regions in Spain.
