In a much-anticipated announcement, budget airline easyJet, has revealed the relaunch of its sought-after route connecting London Southend Airport to Alicante, Spain. This rekindled route, set to resume operations on October 29, 2023, will reconnect travellers to the sunniest city in Europe, promising to delight those seeking the sun, culture, and relaxation.

Following its hiatus due to the pandemic, this decision marks a triumphant return for the popular airline, much to the joy of holidaymakers and avid travellers alike.

Prior to the pandemic, easyJet and Ryanair offered a combined total of 15 weekly flights between the two destinations, providing travellers with easy access to the stunning Costa Blanca region. John Upton, the CEO of London Southend Airport, expressed his excitement over this revival saying "We are excited, delighted and extremely proud to be able to deliver flights to Alicante for our passengers this winter; restarting our most profitable and popular route from Sunday, October 29, and opening the door for passengers in Essex, east London and southeast of England to explore yet another area of Spain with our airline partner, easyJet."

The renewed route will operate twice a week, departing London Southend on Thursdays and Sundays. With fares starting from an affordable 22.99 GBP, easyJet is dedicated to providing exceptional value to its passengers. Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, underscored the airline's commitment to enhancing travel experiences: "We are really pleased to be launching another route from London Southend to Alicante, providing our customers in the South East with even more choice to visit one of Europe’s best-loved beach destinations that we know will prove popular throughout the year."
