The History of Nisa
The history of the Nisa group of hospitals can be dated back to 1967, when a group of doctors founded the Virgen del Consuelo society Clinic SA, because of the absence of private beds and quality service in Valencia. By 1991, the company had acquired the centenary Hospital San Juan de Dios, which today is fully refurbished and is known as Hospital Nisa Valencia Sea.
The name of Clinical Virgen del Consuelo SA was changed in 1992 to Nisa, New Investment Services SA and by 1993 the NISA Group was acknowledged as a leader in its sector in Valencia, and also as one of the leading private healthcare companies in Spain. In 1998 the Group acquired Nisa Hospital Aguas Vivas, and it opened the Rey Don Jaime Nisa Hospital in Castellón.
In 2007 the Hospital Nisa Sevilla-Aljafare in Castilleja de la Cuesta and Hospital Nisa Pardo de Aravaca in Madrid were opened followed by the Brain Injury Centre Nisa Vinalopó in Elche, and the Nisa San Bernardo Medical Centre in Seville in 2012.
In 2017, all Nisa hospitals became a part of the Vithas Group.
